As part of UQ's NAIDOC Week celebrations for 2026, the Library is launching the Indigenous art and Library discovery trail and displaying a specially curated collection of items.

Follow the Indigenous art and Library discovery trail
The Indigenous art and Library discovery trail is a self-guided activity across levels 1 and 2 of the Duhig Tower and Central Library at St Lucia campus. The trail is opening during NAIDOC Week and will remain available afterwards.
When following the trail, you can:
- explore Indigenous artworks in the library and discover related Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stories held and cared for within the library, including the Fryer Library
- engage with the stories and reflect on your experience.

- Dates: 10:30am to 2:30pm (Monday 6 to Friday 10 July)
- Location: Level 1, Duhig Tower Foyer (Building 2, St Lucia campus).

Closer to NAIDOC Week we will share an online trail guide that you can use to follow the trail and learn about the art and cultural items of interest.

To celebrate 50 years of NAIDOC, we pay tribute to the people who built this movement; the Elders who stood firm; the organisers who made space; the artists who turned resistance into expression; the communities who keep showing up, year after year.
We look to current and future generations, carrying forward the legacies of those who came before. This display brings together works by and about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander activists, highlighting activism and storytelling that celebrate culture, survival, resistance and joy.
