Collections overview

Access comprehensive and unique collections.

Role of Library collections

We are committed to providing access to high quality resources that support the teaching, learning, research and community engagement mission of The University of Queensland.

Collections in the Fryer Memorial Library of Australian Literature (Fryer Library) include historically and culturally significant materials, such as rare books and manuscript papers of great Australian writers such as David Malouf, Peter Carey, Thea Astley, and Oodgeroo Noonuccal.

We acknowledge that our collections hold traditional intellectual property and cultural knowledge belonging to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in Australia. We support communities to protect the integrity of this information in these collections.
