Logging in
Log in to Library computers
Select a group below to see how to log in to use library computers and access information.
The use of library computers is governed by UQ's Information and Communication Technology Policy and Acceptable Use of UQ ICT Resources.
- Click the Other user option at the bottom left of the computer screen
- Log in with your UQ username and password. Log out when you leave a computer to secure your account. Computers log out after 15 minutes of inactivity.
If you are having problems accessing content, ensure you have logged in to UQ Authenticate. You can reset your password if you have forgotten it.
You have internet, email and USB read and write access. Files saved to computers are deleted daily.
- Click the Non UQ users (EM and libguest) option at the bottom left of the computer screen
- Log in with your UQ Library username (eg. emjblog3) and password. Log out when you leave a computer to secure your account. Computers log out after 15 minutes of inactivity.

* For full internet access, open a browser to login.uq.edu.au and login to the IMS.

Computer access
- You can create/edit documents using LibreOffice
- Search for Zenworks application
- In the application window search for LibreOffice
- Double-click on the LibreOffice icon to install.
- You can print documents.
- You have USB read and write access. Files saved to computers are deleted daily.
- You cannot access the Internet, other than selected educational resources.
Log in to the Library website
Use the Log in button on our web pages and your UQ username and password to:
- access databases and online journals, ebooks and theses you find in Library Search
- access your Library account
- request items or document delivery
- use LinkedIn Learning online courses.
Online resources and database access
Your Library membership type must include access to online resources to access these materials.
- UQ students and staff have full access
- UQ alumni have remote access to some Library subscribed resources
- Non-members have access to some databases from Library computers.
