Scan to email or USB
Scan settings
Customise your scan using the settings below. To access the settings page:
- Touch your UQ student or staff ID card to the card scanner. Guest users - log in using your registered credentials on the touchscreen.
- Tap on Scan and chose the destination for your scan.
- Tap on Settings.
Setting | Description |

Duplex mode | Single or double sided scan |
Orientation | Portrait or landscape scan output |
Paper size | Select the paper size of your document |
File type | Format of scan output. eg PDF, JPEG, etc |
DPI | Resolution of scanned document |
Color mode | Coloured, greyscale or black and white scan |
Additional pages | Multipage scanning of documents into a single file |
New document | Multipage scanning of documents into separate files |
Advanced settings can be access by clicking the Home icon on the bottom-right corner of the scan screen
Scan into single file
- Log into the printer and select Scan.
- Chose scan destination.
- Tick Additional pages at the bottom of the screen.
- Place the first page on the top feeder tray or onto the photocopy glass and tap Start.
- Add subsequent pages and tap Next for each separate page.
- Tap Finish when the final page is done.
- Tap Start to complete scanning.
Scan into multiple files
- Log into the printer and select Scan.
- Chose scan destination.
- Tick New document.
- Place the first page on the top feeder tray or onto the photocopy glass and tap Start.
- Add subsequent pages and tap New Scan Document for each separate page.
- Tap Send to complete scanning.
Your scan will be delivered to your UQ email address. For guests this is your print/copy account email address
- You can only send scan to your own email.
- There is a file size limit of 10 megabytes.
To scan:
- Log into the printer and select Scan.
- Place your scan material into the top feeder tray or onto the photocopy glass.
- Tap Scan to My Email.
- Adjust the scan settings.
- Press the Start button to scan.
You need to use a USB stick, not a portable hard drive.
- Log into the printer and select Scan.
- Place your scan material into the top feeder tray or onto the photocopy glass.
- Adjust the scan settings.
- Insert your USB. You can find the USB port on the right side of the ID card scanner.
- On the External Memory pop-up screen, tap Save to External Memory.
- Tap the Start button to scan.
- Take your USB with you.

High quality and specialised scanning is available to visitors of the Fryer Library for self-service scanning of rare and special items within the FW Robinson Reading Room only.
