Laptop loans

Students enrolled in the current semester can borrow a laptop from the Library. We offer laptops for 24-hour loan or 28-day loan.

How to borrow and return a 24-hour laptop

  • Loans are self-service. Use your UQ student ID card, and follow the instructions on the locker.
  • You will receive a loan confirmation email. 
  • Return the laptop to its locker by the due date and time in your loan receipt.

Borrow a 28-day laptop

Available to undergraduate and coursework postgraduate students who do not have a computer or laptop to use for study.

We have a limited number of these laptops. Contact us to check if we have a laptop available, or visit an AskUs service point (during desk hours) at: 

Loans commence from the start of the semester. 

How to borrow and return a 28-day laptop 

  • You will need your UQ student ID card.
  • Borrowing: our AskUs staff will check out a laptop and charger to you. The items will be added to your library account. You will receive a loan confirmation email. 
  • Returning: return the laptop and charger at the AskUs service point where it was borrowed by the due date and time and during desk hours.

Loan conditions 

  • Laptop loans are subject to library borrowing rules. 
  • You must be enrolled for the current semester to be eligible to borrow a laptop. You must return the laptop if you unenroll.
  • Your laptop loan must be returned to the AskUs service point where it was borrowed during desk hours.
  • Laptop loans cannot be renewed except under extenuating circumstances. Contact us if you need assistance.
