Lockers
Eligibility
Library lockers are available on a per-semester basis for:
- postgraduate students by application (the process varies by semester)
- students with disability.
Contact a Student Adviser to arrange access to a library locker.
Locations
Lockers are available in libraries at the St Lucia campus and Gatton campus:
- Biological Sciences Library – level 4
- Central Library – levels 1, 3 and 4
- Duhig Tower – level 4
- JK Murray Library (UQ Gatton) – level 1.
How to get a locker
Lockers for Semester 2 (from 31 July to 21 November 2025) will be allocated on a first come first serve basis starting on Thursday 31 July. Key can be loaned from:
- St Lucia: level 1 of Central Library.
- Gatton: level 2 of JK Murray Library.
St Lucia campus
- Applications for lockers open at the start of the semester.
- We will advertise when applications are open. Look for updates on the Library website, digital screens and social media!
- We will draw locker winners, 'lottery style', from the pool of applicants.
Conditions
- Limit of 1 application per person.
- Winning applicants will be assigned a locker based on their selected location preference.
- Locker location preferences cannot be changed.
- Keys are to be collected from the AskUs service point on level 1 of Central Library
- Lockers unclaimed after 2 draws will be available for loan from the AskUs service point in Central Library on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Lockers are available for loan to postgraduate students on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Keys can be loaned at the AskUs service point on level 1 of Central Library.
Gatton campus
- Lockers are available for loan to postgraduate students on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Keys can be loaned at the AskUs service point on level 2 of JK Murray Library.
Locker conditions of use
- Lockers are available to use for 1 semester.
- There is a limit of 1 locker per student, per semester.
- The Library reserves the right to determine the allocation of lockers, taking into consideration individual needs and circumstances, and to open lockers at any time when required.
- Food and drink must not be stored in lockers.
- The locker holder will be loaned a key to a numbered locker. You are responsible for the key.
- The key must be returned to the Library at the end of the loan or the key holder will be charged a replacement fee of $145 (including an administration fee of $20). Additional charges may apply. Visit borrowing rules and charges.
