Past exam papers

To support our students with their study and exam preparation, we provide UQ staff and students with access to past exam papers released to the Library by UQ Examinations in the last 5 years.

The exam papers are for end of semester exams run centrally. They may be referred to as central exams or final exams.

The papers are the Original exam papers, except where stated to be a Sample exam paper. Sample papers may have text specifying a semester or year while covering a broader period. The same Sample paper may be provided for up to three years while the content remains relevant to the course. For more information, see: Examinations procedure - Release of examination papers

The past exam papers do not contain the answers. The solutions to the exam questions are not available.

Option 1: Log in to the Library home page

Log in to see your personalised learning resources on the Library home page. It includes links to past exams, course reading lists, and relevant Library guides for specific courses. You can use the learning resources search box to find courses if yours are not listed.

This learning resources option is also available in your Library account menu at the top of each page.

Option 2: Search by course code

Use Library Search from the home page.

  1. Select Past exam papers from the Library Search options.
  2. Enter a full or partial course code, such as ENGG1500 or ENGG150.
  3. Click Search.

Access a past exam paper

  1. Select the link for an available exam.
  2. Log in with your UQ username and password if you haven't already.
  3. Papers will be available as a PDF or as a link to Inspera.

If you see only a blank page or Secure Collection notice, try a different browser and check your Downloads area on mobile devices.

Availability of past exam papers

No paper for a year and semester may be because the:

  • course was not offered during that semester.
  • exam was conducted by the School, not by UQ Examinations.
  • assessment was by some other mechanism.
  • paper has not yet been released to the Library by UQ Examinations. Exam papers are generally released to the Library three to four months after the semester concludes.

Email UQ Examinations for exams held more than 5 years ago, and the relevant School for school-based or mid-semester exams
