Areas of responsibility
Sam provides strategic direction for collection and information resource provision, aligned to UQ goals and informed by global developments in the information environment. Sam leads:
- digital archiving and preservation, championing the rare, the special and the unique
- digital initiatives in line with UQ strategic imperatives, including the development and implementation of services to support UQ students, staff, and the community.
Biography
Sam has more than 25 years of library and archives experience in universities and the cultural sector. Prior to joining UQ, Sam was the Head of Digital Library Services at Griffith University, where she was responsible for digital library experience, open access repositories and the Griffith Archive. In this role, she also contributed to university-wide activities including digital master plan development, an enterprise service management platform procurement, a major learning management system migration and the cybersecurity improvement program.
