Request a purchase
We welcome suggestions from UQ staff and students for items to purchase for the Library collection.
Considerations
- We will consider your purchase request based on our collection management principles and guidelines.
- Resources must be requested to support research, teaching or learning at UQ.
- Online format is preferred.
- If a physical format is requested, only 1 copy will be purchased due to space limitations.
- For new ongoing journal subscriptions, contact your Faculty Services Librarians.
Submit a purchase request
Log in and use Library Search to check for access to a resource and enable the toggle: Include results regardless of availability in the interface.
Item found and not available
- If you find the resource but it is not available, open the item, go to the Get it section and choose Place a purchase request.
- Check and adjust the resource details in the prefilled request form and select Submit.
Item not found
- Visit Library Search requests and log in with your UQ username and password.
- In the Get It section, choose Place a purchase request to open a blank form.
- Fill in the resource details and select Submit.

We will email you within 7 days and you can check the progress of your request by going to Library account > Requests.
