Borrow by mail
Eligibility
You can use this service if you are a UQ student enrolled as an external or remote student. Your mySI-net record should have remote borrowing enabled automatically.
When using this service, you will be responsible for:
- keeping your semester address up to date so we can post items to you; we will pay for the item to be posted to you
- making sure items are returned to us by the due date to avoid overdue charges
- paying return postage charges.
Other students
If you are not automatically enabled for remote borrowing, you may apply if you:
- are undertaking a student placement of more than 2 weeks in another town or city
- have extenuating circumstances.
To apply:
- Coursework students: email circ@library.uq.edu.au detailing your situation. We will contact you about your application.
- MPhil and PhD students: contact your UQ School or Institute and request that your candidature status in mySI-net be changed to 'remote'.

How to borrow by mail
- Log in to Library Search and find the item you need.
- Click on the item to see the detailed record.
- In the section Get it, select Place a request to have the item posted to you.
- For pickup location select Home address.
- Submit.

Return items
You can return items:
- by post, using our return address label
- in person, to any library on campus.
View library locations for return locations and postal addresses.
Overdue and recalled loans
If someone requests an item you have on loan, we may email you to ask you to return the item. You must return the item by the new due date to avoid replacement charges.
