Published 10 Nov, 2025  ·  5 minute read time

From 24 November to 22 December 2025, we’re improving levels 1, 3 and 4 of Central Library and adding fresh new study spaces!

During these upgrades, levels 2 and 4 of Central Library will be open as usual. Levels 1 and 3 and the link between Central Library and the Duhig Tower will be closed. There will also be some changes to library services and access to collections during this time.

Thank you for your understanding and patience while we freshen these spaces up.

Spaces have reopened

Level 1 and 3 reopened on Tuesday 23 December 2025.

  • Level 1 entries, including from the Duhig Tower, have reopened.
  • The High Use and Requested Items section will relocate to Level 1 before the holidays.
  • There may be some tradespeople in the spaces completing finishing touches.

Library services will operate from other locations until we close for the Christmas holidays.

You may like to bring a set of noise-cancelling headphones.

Let us know if the works get excessively noisy or you notice anything that could be a safety concern.
