Open Textbooks @ UQ has published a new open textbook, Inquiry in Action: Using AI to Reimagine Learning and Teaching: Case Studies from the Frontline of Higher Education Practice.

About the book

‘Inquiry in Action: Using AI to Reimagine Learning and Teaching: Case Studies from the Frontline of Higher Education Practice’ is edited by Associate Professor Rachel Fitzgerald, the Deputy Associate Dean (Academic) for the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law. The open book has contributors from across UQ and The University of Sydney, covering a cross-section of disciplines including dentistry, dietetics, economics, engineering, and information systems.

This book invites readers into the classrooms and studios where educators and students are reimagining what learning can look like in the age of generative AI. Drawing on real experiences from UQ, each case study captures how educators are experimenting, questioning, and collaborating with students to design more engaging, ethical, and inclusive learning experiences.

Together, these stories offer practical strategies and inspiration for anyone seeking to integrate AI thoughtfully and confidently into teaching practice. This collection sets a new benchmark for AI literacy and educational excellence. It empowers educators to lead with curiosity, creativity, and care, transforming how we teach, learn, and imagine the future of higher education.
