Winners of the UQ Visualise Your Thesis competition

Congratulations to the winners of the UQ Visualise Your Thesis competition for 2025, sponsored by the UQ Association of Postgraduate Students (APS), Inc.

First prize winner

Saraswat Basu is from the School of Dentistry. Saraswat's entry was selected by the judges as the 2025 winner. Saraswat won $1200 in prize money, provided by the APS.

Saraswat's entry will be entered into the international round of the Visualise Your Thesis competition for 2025 taking place during September and October. 

Second prize winner

Miftakul Munir from the School of Biomedical Sciences was selected as the second prize winner for their entry, Development of nanomedicine for cystic fibrosis.

Miftakul won $700 in prize money, provided by the APS.

Third prize winner  

Max Andrews from the School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences was selected as the third prize winner for their entry, Protecting hamstrings from strain injuries: Intricate muscle adaptations to eccentric training.

Max won $300 in prize money, provided by the APS.

Viewer's Choice winner

Swathi Hassan Gangaraju from the Child Health Research Centre was voted Viewer's Choice winner for their entry, Integrating genetic and environmental data to predict youth mental health using machine learning. 

Swathi won $500 in prize money, provided by the APS

About Visualise Your Thesis

The Visualise Your Thesis competition was developed by the University of Melbourne. The competition has offered local and international competition rounds since 2019 and has a wide international reach.
