Cultural statement

The Library is a privileged custodian of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander collections. We are committed to developing culturally competent practices and changing past policies and procedures in relation to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and peoples.  The statement at the top of our homepage links to information about using culturally sensitive collections.

Log in for personalised content

To the right of the cultural statement is an option for users to log in with your UQ login for fast and convenient access to personalised content:

  • for UQ students, this includes links to your Library account, course learning resources and past exam papers, referencing style guides and upcoming training
  • for UQ staff and researchers, this includes links to your Library account, read and publish agreements and UQ eSpace.

Library Search

Library Search retains its prominent position on the home page so you can jump straight into searching our collections! Be sure to read the important Restrictions on use when using Library resources

Locations and hours

A new locations and hours section makes it easy to find opening hours and see how busy our libraries are in real-time.

  • If you have a preferred location, you can click on the library name to discover local information such as address, map location, and local facilities or unique information.
  • Students can also book a room from this section of the homepage.

Easier to find what you need

Based on research and feedback from UQ students and staff, we've rewritten and reorganised the content of our website to make it easier for you to find what you need. We tested the new structure with students and staff and will continue to monitor this.

From the homepage, you can go directly to the area of the website you're interested in – whether that's materials and support for study, learning and teaching or information for researchers.

Consistent experience across the site
