Jeffery is acting for Dr Caroline Williams, University Librarian.

Areas of responsibility
As the Acting University Librarian, Jeffery is responsible for leading The University of Queensland Library, with a focus on:
- enhancing the student experience of the Library
- developing partnerships and collaborative ways of working
- building support for research, including open access.
Biography
Jeff has worked in the library sector for more than 20 years in academic, public, and special libraries in the US, Spain, and Australia.
Jeff's substantive role at the Library is Director of Client Experience. Prior to joining UQ, Jeff was an Associate Director at the University of Sydney Library where he was responsible for frontline and customer service, library spaces, and student experience and engagement. In that role, he led on the implementation of a new Library Services Platform, improvements in customer service and live chat services, and led working from home and return to campus support throughout COVID.
Before that, Jeff was the Manager Library Network at the City of Sydney Library, where he led all front-of-house library services, including significant renovations and new library spaces across the local government area.
