Document supply Australian and overseas libraries
The University of Queensland Library lends and supplies copies of material from our collection to other libraries per the Australian ILRS Code and under the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth).
Due to copyright regulations, we cannot complete document supply requests from individuals. Submit your request via your educational institution or local library. Individuals can also order copies online via the National Library of Australia's Copies Direct service.
Australian libraries can submit document supply requests via:
- LADD (Libraries Australia Document Delivery)
- RapidILL
- Our Document Delivery Portal (for registered libraries - email dds@library.uq.edu.au to register your library)
There are four levels of service, with additional costs determined by delivery method and volume.

- Loans are for 8 weeks. Renewals may be requested. Loans are subject to recall after 1 week.
- Requests must include a copyright declaration.
- Additional charges apply for scanned copies of more than 25 pages, and printed items sent via post due to license conditions.
- Prices for special copying, e.g. fragile materials, microfiche, microfilm maps, and scan over 50 pages, are by negotiation.

Exceptions
The following materials are generally not available for loan:
- journal issues
- Fryer Library and Hayes collections
- recently published monographs
- items in High use collections
- reference material
- Law Statutes and Reports
- UQ theses
- DVDs of television broadcasts.
UQ theses
We cannot loan UQ theses via document supply. Other libraries can order copies of UQ theses.
Off-air television recordings
Universities, TAFE institutions and schools that are signatories to the Screenrights Australian Education Licence can request copies of off-air broadcasts.
To request a copy of a recording in the UQ collection for your institution, please submit a request via:
