The warehouse is our purpose-built, environmentally-controlled facility at the UQ Gatton campus, that can store and protect books, journals, documents and archives.

Requesting items from the warehouse

Books, maps and other physical items

Place a Hold in your search result. Warehouse items can take up to 5 days to reach your pickup location.

Journal articles

We scan journal articles or book chapters of items held in the Warehouse. We send it to your email account within 5 working days.

  1. Search for the title of the journal in UQ Library Search
  2. Click on the Location & availability tab
  3. Click on Request document delivery
  4. Complete the online form
  5. Click Submit

Book chapters

If you see that the book, with the chapter you want, is located in the Warehouse in UQ Library Search:

  1. Click on the Location & availability tab
  2. Click on Request document delivery
  3. When the online form opens, click on Book Chapter in the side menu. The form will update.
  4. Complete the online form, including the Title of the Chapter
  5. Click Submit

Alumni, reciprocal and community borrowers

You can request journal articles from the warehouse at any Library AskUs service point.

Those who are not members of UQ Library can request journal articles from the Warehouse through their local library or through the National Library of Australia's Copies Direct service.

The supply of journal articles is subject to Copyright.

Access to the collection

Clients who have special research needs may request the loan of journal volumes. Please contact us to discuss your needs.

Relocation of warehouse items to a branch library

Items which have come back into demand can be transferred out of the warehouse into a branch library collection at any time. Please contact us if this is required.
