Alumni membership
You're welcome in our libraries. Find a quiet place to read, use the collections, attend an event, and enjoy the atmosphere at one of the cafés nearby. Visit us online and immerse yourself in digital stories and exhibitions, listen to a literary lecture, and access electronic resources.
An annual membership to the Library gives you access to more:
- Access electronic resources for alumni
- Borrow an unlimited number of items from our general collection
- Request items, including journal articles from the Library Warehouse
- Membership costs $75 per year or $50 per 6 months.
- Newly graduated? Get a new graduate membership, your first year is free.

Business Source Alumni Edition
Business Source Alumni Edition provides access to full-text business magazines and journals, of which a number are peer-reviewed. It includes publications in nearly every area of business including marketing, management, accounting, finance, econometrics, economics and more.
Cambridge Core journals online
Cambridge Core journals online provides access to the full text of Cambridge University Press journals over a wide range of topics.
Wiley Online Library journals
Wiley Online Library hosts a multidisciplinary collection of online resources covering life, health and physical sciences, social science, and the humanities.
Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press journals
Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press journals includes selected titles in cancer, neuroscience, plant genetics, genomics, and bioinformatics.
CSIRO online journals
CSIRO online journals provides online access to full text journals published by CSIRO Publishing and produced in co-operation with a number of other scientific societies in Australia and New Zealand.
Project MUSE
Project MUSE is a collaboration between libraries and publishers providing full-text online access to resources in the humanities, arts, and social sciences.
Annual reviews online
Annual Reviews publishes analytic reviews in focused disciplines within the biomedical, physical, and social sciences.
OECD iLibrary
OCED Library is the online publications portal of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. Provides full text access to OECD periodicals, books and statistics, grouped in various subject themes.
AustLit
AustLit is an authoritative database of Australian literature and storytelling.
JSTOR
JSTOR - back issues of paper journals in electronic format. Subject collections include: Arts and Sciences, Biological Sciences, Business, Ecology and Botany, General Science, Language and Literature, Mathematics and Statistics and Music.
Open access resources
License agreements prevent us from offering complete access to our electronic resources but we can connect you to open educational resources. A growing number of peer-reviewed journals and books are available under open access. Some of these are listed below. Contact our librarian team if you need expert advice or research guidance.

Using the library
As a UQ alum, you are welcome to use any of our libraries. Check our building hours for community members and visitors and library locations for floor plans and a list of facilities available. Most of our physical collections are available in Central Library on levels 3 and 4. Visit from 7am to 10pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 6pm Saturday and Sunday. Get directions to Central Library.

Borrowing from the general collection
With your alumni membership, you can:
- Borrow unlimited items from our general collection
- Unlimited renewals (unless recalled)
- Request items on loan, from other campuses, and from the Library Warehouse.
Bring your library card to borrow items at our self-service loan machines.
Print and scan
Printing and scanning is available to visitors. To print you must:
- Register a print account and purchase some credit
- Log in to a computer as a guest or use the multifunction printer
