Temporary changes to borrowing rules

[Updated 2 July 2021] We have temporarily adjusted our borrowing rules due to the Queensland Government lockdown of the Brisbane area.

We have temporarily suspended library fines. We encourage you to hold on to your current loans for now and not return them while access to UQ campuses is restricted.

Library fines

Fines accrue for late returns, damaged or non-returned items and are added to your account when the item(s) is returned or as notified

  • Total fines of less than $20 are not payable - they are waived at the end of the semester
  • Total fines of $20 or more cause your borrowing privileges to be suspended

We accept Mastercard, Visa and American Express payments. Allow 1 working day for your library record and any block on your access to be updated.

  • Individual fine amounts are payable in full
  • A single fine of $20 or more is payable in full
  • Reduce your total fines to less than $20 to restore your borrowing privileges
  • If your membership has expired, make a payment via the UQ Payments website
