Temporary changes to borrowing rules

We have temporarily suspended most library fines for overdue items (excludes Laptop and Hololens loans). We encourage you to return your items on time and in line with any Queensland Government health guidelines.

Library fines

Fines for overdue items are totalled and added to your account when the overdue items are returned and processed.

Additional charges may be added to your account as notified, such as for damaged items.

You will not be able to borrow, renew, or place requests while the total amount owing on your library account is equal to or exceeds $20.

When making payment to reduce your total amount owing below $20, note that individual charges must be paid in full.

Accumulated overdue fines totalling less than $20 do not require payment - these are waived at the end of the semester.
