Scan to email or USB

Your scan will be delivered to your UQ email address. For guests this is your print/copy card email address.

• You can only send scan and email to yourself. You can share the file via email
• There is a file size limit of 10 megabytes, if the scan exceeds this size it will not be delivered

To scan:

For UQ ID or print/copy card holders: Touch your UQ ID card or print/copy card to the printer card scanner. For guest users: Log in using your registered credentials on the touchscreen.

1. Place your scan material into the top feeder tray or onto the photocopy glass
2. Press the Scan/Fax button on the printer menu
3. Press the Email:me box
4. Adjust the scan settings 
5. Press the round Start button to start scanning
6. Press Log out to finish

You need to use a USB stick, not a portable hard drive. 

For UQ ID or print/copy card holders: Touch your UQ ID card or print/copy card to the printer. For guest users: Log in using your registered credentials on the touchscreen

1. Insert your USB, you can find the USB port on the right side of the ID card scanner
2. Place your scan material into the top feeder tray or onto the photocopy glass
3. On the External Memory pop-up screen, press Save to External Memory
4. Adjust the scan settings
5. Press the round Start button to start scanning
6. Press Log out to finish

Take your USB with you.

Single/double sided scanning

Press the 1-Sided option to open the single or double sided (duplex setting).

Set the output file type

1. Press the PDF option at the bottom
2. select your preferred file type: PDF, JPEG, Compact PDF, XPS, etc.

Multipage scanning from a book

1. Press Application in the bottom-right hand corner of the Scan Options page
2. Scroll right across the settings. Turn on Separate Scan 
3. Press Close to return to scan options

High quality and specialised scanning is available to visitors of the Fryer Library for self-service scanning of special collections items within the FW Robinson Reading Room only.
