Midwifery Practice Experience Counts
The below instructions describe how to keep track of your Midwifery practice experiences and specifically the count for Antenal, First stage of labour, Births, Examination of Newborn, Postnatal and Complex care.
Copy Template
- Click on the relevant counts template below.
Midwifery Practice Experience Requirements counts template - Dual degree
Midwifery Practice Experience Requirements counts template - Midwifery degree - To make a copy of the google sheet from the File menu select Make a copy.
- Enter a name for the google sheet and click the OK button.
- The new sheet will be displayed in a new browser tab.
- Right click on the 1 for Row 1 and select Delete row.
Experience Counts
- Access your Learn.UQ (Blackboard) Course.
- Navigate to your ePortfolio Antenatal journal and click on the link.
- Click on the Book icon.
- Submitted (completed) entries will have green dots.
- In the google sheet enter the number of antenatal experiences in the Antenatal individual cell (B5).
- Click on the individual entries and click on form to open it.
- Scroll down the form to check if they were a 'Complex' care.
- If relevant update the number of Complex care experiences you have completed (D5).
Follow the above steps your First stage of labour, Births, Examination of Newborn, Postnatal journals.
Continuity of Care
- Access your Learn.UQ (Blackboard) Course.
- Navigate to your ePortfolio Continuity of Care journal and click on the link.
- Click on the Book icon.
Note: Only submitted (fully completed) entries will have green dots.
- Click on the first entry page and click on the form to open it.
- Scroll down the form and note the number of Antenatal, First stage of labour, Births, Examination of Newborn, Postnatal experiences completed.
- Enter the relevant experience numbers in the CofC 1 row (Row 7).
- Complete the above steps with all the Continuity of Care entry pages.
Note: Additional Continuity of Care rows have been included in the google sheet (shaded grey) than is required.
Note: Your course coordinator also has a spreadsheet to keep track of your experiences counts. This spreadsheet uses the completion of the 'Maternal Wellbeing' field to keep track of experience counts.
Counts
The total counts for each type of experience will be displayed in the Total Current (Row 3).
This row is formatted so that the individual cells will be shaded a darker green as you complete more of your experience requirements. The relevant cell will be shaded blue when you have completed the requirements for that experience.
