You can borrow a laptop from the Library for a semester if you:

  • are currently enrolled
  • do not have a computer or laptop you can use when studying from home.

A limited number of laptops are available, and conditions apply. The laptops will be available each semester.

Laptop borrowing conditions

  • Laptop loans are for one semester at a time. The laptop will be checked out to your library account and must be returned by the loan due date.
  • You must be enrolled for the current semester. Should you unenroll from study, you must return the laptop to the library. Your enrolment status may be checked periodically.
  • No internet access is provided with the laptop. UQ wireless internet is available on campus.

How to borrow a laptop

Visit the AskUs desk on level two of the Dorothy Hill Engineering and Sciences Library, at St Lucia campus, during opening hours to request a laptop loan. Your student ID card is required.

An AskUs team member will check a laptop and charger out to you. The items will be added to your Library account.

Financial hardship assistance

If you are experiencing urgent and unexpected financial problems that are affecting your studies, you may be able to apply for financial hardship assistance to purchase required study-related equipment, such as a laptop.
