Welcome to Semester 2

Welcome to the Library, your place to study in-person and online in Semester 2!

We want to help you settle in at UQ, so in this post, we'll introduce five great Library services to get you started.

1. Log in to My Library

Logging in to My Library, your personalised home page, is a great way to start your study day at UQ. You can:

2. Discover your learning resources

We are your place to access resources for your courses including books, journal articles, databases, videos, and websites.

Visit Course reading lists to start your reading.

Subject guides are a good place to start your research. Written by our librarians, subject guides contain suggested resources in your subject area, like books, journal articles, websites, and more. We also have guides for all the main referencing styles used at UQ.

See our YouTube channel for more learning assistance like Evaluating information sources (YouTube, 3m06s).

3. Level up your skills

Use Digital Essentials to improve your digital and study skills. Our easy-to-access modules cover topics such as UQ systems and how to communicate and collaborate online.

Visit our how to study online page for tips to stay focused and organised.

You have free access to LinkedIn Learning through the Library. Learn new software and skills at your own pace. We also run free training for students throughout the semester, including:

  • Microsoft Office
  • Endnote
  • Other research-related software.

More  services for students.

4. Get assistance from the Library

Need assistance? Ask us!

AskUs is our friendly help and information service. Contact us any time for library, student IT, course and assignment questions, and more!

Connect with us on chat and phone, during opening hours, or visit us at selected service points.

Meet your librarian

Librarians are a key contact for students and staff at UQ faculties, schools, centres and institutes.

Your librarian:

  • is an expert at finding information in your discipline
  • can advise you about our services for students and researchers
  • provides advice on assignment writing and achieving your research goals

5. Keep up to date and stay in touch

Follow us on social media to keep up to date on what’s happening in the Library! You can find us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. We also share information about what’s going on around campus, and listen to your feedback.

We enjoy seeing photos of you using your library spaces, studying and having fun around campus. Tag us with #uqlibrary!
