Alumni Friends of UQ Competition

To celebrate Alumni Friends of The University of Queensland Inc.’s Golden Jubilee, The University of Queensland Library (‘UQ Library’) is running two competitions for UQ students on social media. There are two $1,000 prizes on offer, both funded by the Alumni Friends of The University of Queensland Inc. 

1. UQ Library’s Alumni Friends of UQ Competition

What does the UQ Library mean to you? Take a photo of something you like about UQ Library and share it on the Library’s social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram or Twitter), with the hashtag #myuqlibrary. The photo could be a favourite study spot, a building feature, a book or something in the collection you’ve enjoyed, or a group of your friends at the Library. Get creative!
 

2. UQ Fryer Library’s Alumni Friends of UQ Competition 

Nominate your favourite ‘treasure’ from the Fryer Library’s collections and tell us why, or share your favourite image from the Fryer Library Collection in UQ eSpace* on the Library’s social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram or Twitter), using the hashtag #myfryertreasure. *Access a list of copyright-expired images available on UQ eSpace at http://bit.ly/2wUOtLt.

 

Terms and Conditions 

To celebrate Alumni Friends of The University of Queensland Inc.’s Golden Jubilee, The University of Queensland Library (‘UQ Library’) is running two competitions for UQ students on social media. There are two $1,000 prizes on offer, both funded by the Alumni Friends of The University of Queensland Inc.

1. Entry criteria

1.1 Entry is open to currently enrolled students of The University of Queensland only.

1.2 Entries must be a photo or video, with caption, posted and publicly visible on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram and include the hashtag #myuqlibrary or #myfryertreasure.

1.3 UQ Library may exclude entries, which do not meet the entry criteria.

1.4 Entries must be received by 11.55pm AEST on Sunday 12 November 2017.

 

2. Copyright

2.1 Entrants grant UQ Library a royalty free, irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to use (including reproduce) their entry, including any captions, for any promotional purposes of The University of Queensland.

2.2 Where applicable, entrants warrant that any photos or videos uploaded are their own, or that they have permission to make them publicly available.

 

3. Consent

3.1 Entrants consent to their name and area of study being published in conjunction with their entry on the UQ Library webpage, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram accounts.

3.2 Any individuals identifiable within the entry must have given written consent for its use in this competition.

3.3 The winning entry will be excluded if written consent, per 3.2, is not produced within 7 days of notice. In this event, the prize will be awarded to the ‘runner-up’ entry.

 

4. Winner selection

4.1 The winning entry will be selected by a UQ Library judging panel and the entrant will be notified by 18 November 2017. All decisions of the UQ Library judging panel are final.

4.2 The winner will be awarded the prize at a public event associated with The University of Queensland on 6 December 2017.

4.3 The prize for the competition is a non-exchangeable $1,000 to be transferred into the winner’s nominated bank account.

4.4 Competition results will be published on the UQ Library website, Facebook page, Twitter and Instagram accounts.

 

5. Prize administration

5.1 The prize will be administered by UQ Library in collaboration with the UQ Advancement Office.

5.2 The winner must show their UQ student ID to the UQ Library and provide their bank details in person, for the prize of $1,000 to be transferred into their account.

5.3 If the winner cannot be contacted within 7 days from the date of the first attempt to contact the person, the prize will be awarded to the ‘runner-up’ entry.

6. Privacy

6.1 Any personal information provided by an entrant in submitting an entry to the competition will be used for the purpose of administering the competition and for any other purposes referred to in these terms and conditions.
