Private channels in course team
A channel in Microsoft Teams is used to focus conversations on a specific topic, project, or department.
Your Course Coordinator might create private channels for your course's group assessment or your tutor might create a private channel for your tutorial group. You should have access to these private channels after being added to these channels. If your course does not have private channels for group work, you can create group chat for collaboration.
For example:
In your group private channel, you can:
- Create or upload files for collaboration
- Create a list of tasks and assign these to your group members
Note: Your Course Coordinator needs to edit the channel permission setting to allow members in a private channel to add a new tab in their private channel. You can share this guide with your Course Coordinator: https://elearning.uq.edu.au/guides/microsoft-teams/channel-settings-teams#3 (this guide is only available for teaching staff).
