Create a blog post or journal entry

Follow any instructions or guidelines provided by your instructor. Ensure the content is appropriate. You may not be able to delete it.

  1. Navigate to your individual, group, or course blog/journal.
  2. Click on the Create Blog Entry or Create Journal Entry button.
  3. Enter a descriptive title in the Title textbox. 
  4. Enter the body of your post/entry in the Entry Message box. For more information on using the text editor, refer to the Learn.UQ Text Editor guide. 

  1. Optionally, click on the Browse My Computer button to attach any files.
  2. Optionally, locate and attach the required files from your computer and repeat for any other files you need to attach.
  3. Optionally, click on the Do not attach link to remove any attachments before you submit.

  1. Click on the Post Entry button to publish the post/entry.
  2. Alternatively, click on the Save Entry as Draft to return to the post later.

Published posts/entries are displayed with a timestamp within the blog or journal.

Resuming a saved draft post or entry

  1. Click View Drafts button on your blog or journal page.

  1. Click on the post/entry draft link.

  1. Finish writing the post or attaching files.
  2. Click on the Post Entry button.

Edit an existing blog post or journal entry

Note: Your instructor may have configured the blog or journal so that posts/entries cannot be edited.

  1. Click on the down arrow next to the post title.
  2. Select Edit from the dropdown list.
  3. Edit the post as required.
  4. Click on the Post Entry button.

Viewing other participants' blog posts or journal entries

Your can view other participants' blog post or journal entries by clicking on the  expand button or using the   right and left navigation buttons.

Add a comment

  1. Browse to the required post:
  2. Click on the  expand button or use the   left and right navigation buttons.
  3. Click on the post link in the right hand side index
  4. Click on the Comment button.
  5. Enter your comment in the Comment textbox.
  6. Click on the Add button.

Note: Multimedia cannot be added to comments.

View comments

  1. Browse to the required blog/journal post.
  2. Click on the Comments link.

Delete a comment

Note: Your instructor may not allow you to delete comments.

  1. Open the required blog/journal.
  2. Click on the required blog/journal link.
  3. Click on the Comments link.
  4. Click on the   icon next to the comment to delete it.
