Taylor and Francis Library Excellence Award in Research for 2019

We are proud to announce the winner of the Taylor and Francis Group Excellence Award in Research for 2019 is Mr Peyman Akhgar.  

The winner

The Library has selected UQ student Peyman Akhgar as the recipient of the 2019 Taylor and Francis Group Library Excellence Award in Research.

Peyman is undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy in Architecture. His thesis title is ‘Between Beaux-Arts, Tradition and Modernism: the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and the Revitalisation of the Iranian National Identity’.

The selection panel was very impressed with Peyman’s application, which demonstrated an extensive use of Library resources from Paris to Tehran. 

The prize

The winner of the Taylor and Francis Library Excellence Award in Research receives a $1000 prize and a Research Metrics Report to reward their effective use of library materials and services to achieve excellence in research at UQ.

Caroline Williams, University Librarian and Dr Amberyn Thomas, Director, Learning and Research Services assessed the applications.

The Library thanks the Taylor and Francis Group for their continued support of this prize and our early career researchers.
