About the book
Legal Research Skills: An Australian Law Guide is designed to support students undertaking legal studies and contribute to the development of research skills in Australian law schools.

Based on UQ Library’s Legal Research Essentials, the book was a collaboration between seven Australian university libraries:
- The University of Queensland Library
- James Cook University Library
- University of Southern Queensland Library
- Charles Darwin University Library
- Southern Cross University Library
- Queensland University of Technology Library
- Deakin University Library.
Open Educational Resources Collective
The OER Collective offers a open textbook publishing platform through Pressbooks for CAUL members who take part in the Collective. It seeks to assist authors at participating institutions to publish open books as well as collaborative publishing amongst member institutions.
Open Textbooks @ UQ
Open Textbooks @ UQ is The University of Queensland’s open book creation platform. It can to help find, create, adopt and adapt open books for courses.
Students will get:
- Free online access to your book
- No access limitations
- Local context and a diversity of viewpoints can be included.
There are also grants available to help UQ academics to adapt or create open textbooks and use them in courses.
