UQ/Mater McAuley Library closing 11 September 2020

The UQ/Mater McAuley Library is closing permanently at 4pm on Friday 11 September 2020. We will continue to deliver information and services to our Mater-based UQ staff and students online.

Closure information

Over time, more resources have become available online and library services and support can be delivered flexibly. These factors have been considered in the decision to move to a virtual model for library services for Mater staff and the closure of the onsite library.

Return your loans

You can return your loans at the Mater McAuley Library until 4pm, Wednesday 30 September. Use the after-hours return chute located at the rear of the Library.

After 30 September, please return the locations at another UQ Library location, such as:

Mater staff

Your UQ Library membership will cease on 30 September 2020. You may be able to apply for an Academic Title to retain access to resources made available by The University of Queensland Library.

You will continue to have access to a suite of online resources via the Resources page on the Mater Group Intranet, including the Clinical Knowledge Network.

  • Loans: please return all your UQ Library loans as soon as possible.
  • Requests: requests for print items ceased on 4 September. Requests for copies will cease on 25 September.


UQ students and staff

We will continue to provide our services online and work with you to help you access the information you need.

Collect your requested items from PACE Library

Any requested items with a pickup location of Mater will be transferred to PACE Health Sciences Library.
