What's in the photography collection?
Thousands of 19th and 20th century photographs. These photographs provide valuable documentary evidence of people and places from Queensland's past. They also trace the development of technical processes used in photography. Some collections include:

- Views of Brisbane Album (F3459), which contains sepia prints
- Album of Studio Portraits (F3477), which contains cabinet cards and cartes de visites
- Magic lantern projector and glass slides (F3786), which is an original 19th century projector with accompanying slides
University life, people and events can be found in the Fryer Library University of Queensland photograph collection (UQFL466).
The Grahame Garner (F3400) collection features protests and marches in Brisbane in the 1960s and 1970s.
