How to use your notebook

Digital Research Notebooks is powered by LabArchives, a data management platform designed for researchers. You can organise, store, protect, manage, collaborate and share your research data. Your data is securely stored and backed up in the cloud.

Key features

Easy access via UQ

  • Access all your notebooks from UQRDM. Search and share them from anywhere and on any device.
  • View all your LabArchives research project notebooks via a single easy to use interface.

Support your workflows

Digital Research Notebooks accepts files and data in any format and can accept data directly from instruments.

  • Add widgets for calculation and analysis, protocol and inventory management.
  • Take advantage of a range of other tools to simplify processing your data.

Collaborate with research partners

  • Share notebooks with collaborators anywhere in the world. Unlike paper-based notebooks you can work on data collaboratively, saving time.
  • Easily manage collaborators by granting or controlling who has access to your notebook via the UQRDM dashboard.

Digital signatures and auditing

Your notebook can also be signed and witnessed easily online, without waiting for your colleagues to do this in person. This is a really important feature, saving you time and securing your data if there is any intellectual property or patents pending.
