Buddycheck

Buddycheck is a peer evaluation tool, that calculates student contributions to a group project.

To submit evaluation:

1. In the course site Assessment section, in the relevant folder, click on the Buddycheck link.

2. Click on the Continue button.

3. Click on the Begin evaluation button.

(Optionally) To learn more about the evaluation and how to complete it, click on the More info link and then on the Show me how first and a short intro to the system will be played.

4. You will be able to view the outline of the evaluation. Click on the Start button.

5. Team questions are used to score the team as a whole. Scoring will be anonymous for your group members, but not for instructors. Rate each criterion and click on the Next button.

6. Peer questions are used to score your own and each group member's performance on the 5-point scale. Scoring will be anonymous for your group members, but not for instructors. You can be asked to motivate each score in special text input. Sometimes the motivation will be mandatory and you will only be able to proceed after you completed motivation for every team member. The motivation is only visible to instructors.

7. Peer messages: you may be asked to leave individual messages for each team member. Your messages will be shared anonymously and only with the receiving student. Instructors are able to see the peer messages received and given by each student without anonymity. After you type the messages, click on the Next button. You will be able to view your progress as you go.

8. Open questions: you may be asked open questions and this will be your opportunity to express your thoughts about the group project work in general. After you type your response, click on the Next button.

9. After you have answered all the questions you can go back and review/change/edit your responses. When you are done, click on the Submit evaluation button.

10. After you have submitted your evaluation, a confirmation will be displayed.

12. If you would like to make sure you have submitted your evaluation, click on the evaluation link in Blackboard again. If you have not submitted, you will see message 1, if you have submitted you will see message 2.

13. If you decide to change your scores/messages after you have submitted the evaluation, you need to contact your course coordinator who will remove all your scores/messages and will re-open the evaluation for you.
14. After the evaluation closes, evaluation results will be released. You will receive an email informing you that the results were released with a link to the evaluation to view the results. Click on the link.

15. Click on the View your result button.

17. If the evaluation is summative, your grade for the group project may be changed depending on the scores you received from your teammates. You will be able to view your grade with the explanation in My Grades section of your course.
