5. Select and change output (referencing) style

EndNote provide hundreds of styles in author-date (eg. APA), numbered (eg. Vancouver) or footnote (eg. Chicago).

You can also download additional styles or create your own.

Output (referencing) styles can also be changed in an existing EndNote document.

Selecting an output (referencing) style

You can choose your style in EndNote or using the EndNote tools in Word.

In EndNote

  1. In the reference summary on the right, the current style is listed at the end of the first box. Make sure Summary is selected.
  2. Select your style from the menu. Click on Select Another Style for additional options.
  3. If your style is not listed, click Select Another Style. Choose your style from the alpabetic list.

In Word

  1. Always check the style in the Word EndNote 20 toolbar.
  2. If your style isn't listed, select your style from the menu. Click on Select Another Style for additional options.
