Deleting a citation

Do not use the Delete or Backspace keys on the keyboard. That process might fail to remove all the field code.

To delete a citation:

1. Highlight the in-text citation (i.e. the author and year in an author-date style, or the number in  a numbered style)
2. Click on the Edit & Manage Citation(s) button on the ribbon
3. Click on the Edit Reference dropdown on the right of the existing reference
4. Select Remove Citation
5. Click the OK button

EndNote will remove the citation and reformat the list of references. Save the changes to your document.
