Research requires the collection of thousands of pieces of data, produced in multiple forms, and collected and stored over years. That collection needs to be secure and accessible at every stage of the research process. It is never too late or too early to address most aspects of research data management. 3. Data management plan
A data management plan (DMP) is a tool for maximising the efficiency and quality of your research and its data.
It is a document that can be used to:
- reduce the risk of data loss
- avoid ethics or privacy breaches
- ensure compliance with legislation, policies, grant requirements, and discipline best practice.
