  • show you how to create accessible content
  • give you examples of study hacks which can help to make your digital life easier.

After completing this module, you will be able to:

  • understand the importance of accessibility online
  • create accessible content
  • find and use productivity tools as study hacks.

  • Accessibility is making sure that content is equitably available to everyone.
  • Accessibility isn't just about disability - it benefits everyone.
  • People's reasons for requiring accessible content are many and varied.

2 Being accessible

  • Universal design is the idea of designing with everyone in mind - creating new solutions without barriers to certain groups of people.
  • There are tools to allow us to simulate different accessibility problems to better understand how to solve them.
  • Making sure content is accessible is a legal requirement in many sectors.

3 Creating accessible content

  • There are lots of tools available to help you make the content you create accessible.
  • Many fundamental ways of improving accessibility are the same across different platforms.
  • Social media isn't always accessible and is an easy place to start creating accessible content.

4 Study hacks

  • The use of accessibility features isn't restricted to people with disabilities - you can use assistive technology to help hack your studies.
  • Operating systems have built in accessibility features that can be used as productivity tools.
  • There is a productivity tool to suit everyone.
