COVID-19 (coronavirus)| Library services

We will continue to provide services, resources, and training to support you online.

  Before you come to campus

 Is the Library open?

In the interests of physical distancing and reducing the transmission of COVID-19, most of our locations are closed until further notice. Some 24/7 study spaces are available (UQ ID card required). You must practise physical distancing in libraries. View the current opening hours for details.

 Study spaces

Some 24/7 study spaces are open but you must practise physical distancing in libraries and limit contact between yourself and others to help lower the chances of spreading the virus.

Protect yourself and others by practising healthy hygiene habits. We provide hand sanitiser in all our libraries.

 Laptops for loan

If you do not have a computer or laptop you can use for studying from home right now,  you may be able to borrow one from us. We have a limited number of laptops available for UQ students only. These will be distributed on a case-by-case basis. In response to the COVID-19 situation, some library locations and services will be closed from Thursday 26 March. However, we can still distribute the loan laptops until further notice.

Complete the Laptops for loan form if you are a UQ student and wish to be considered for a laptop loan. The loans are initially for 12 weeks, with a possibility to extend the duration of the loan.

Note: The loan laptops will not come with any UQ provided internet access when used away from campus. If you receive a loan laptop you will need to set up your own off-campus internet access. You will be able to use the UQ and Eduroam Wi-Fi networks on campus.

We will need to collect some information from you for this process. We will use this information for the purpose of distributing laptops only, in accordance with UQ's Privacy Management Policy.
