Find funding opportunities using funding databases and websites. Tips for finding funding:
- Start early and be mindful of the deadline
- Click through to the website of the opportunity for the most up-to-date information
- Look to see who and what has been successful in winning the award previously
- Evaluate if the amount of the award is worth the time it will take to apply
3. Free sources, philanthropy and support
You can also search the following, freely available sources to find funding opportunities:
- GrantConnect — the Australian Government's grants information system. GrantConnect allows applicants to search and browse publicly available Grant Opportunities and Forecast Opportunities for free. Registration is required to download Grant Opportunity documents, receive automatic notifications or submit grant applications on GrantConnect.

Advance Queensland — grants from the Queensland Government for universities and researchers
- Grants.gov — the US Federal grants sytem. Grants.gov allows you to search, filter, and apply for specific opportunities.
