Kaltura Capture - Voice-Over Presentation
Voice-over PowerPoint
- Plug in the microphone you will be using (if you are not using a microphone built into your computer) before you open Kaltura Capture.
- Open the PowerPoint Presentation and in Kaltura Capture's main interface, ensure the appropriate screen with the Slide Show is selected from the drop-down menu.
Note: Turn off a screen/webcam by clicking on the icon to grey it out. If recording using more than one input e.g. camera, webcam, screen recording, ensure the icon is in blue. Only two inputs can be recorded at one time.
- To record, click on the Red record button and the 3-second countdown will commence before recording.
Tip: Any drawings or highlighting done during the recorded presentation will be retained in the final recording.
Tip: Clicking on the Red pause button ensures that recordings do not need to be completed in one take. Resume recording by clicking the Red pause button again.

Stop recording by clicking on the White stop button then Yes, Stop it.
- The recording entry will appear. Editing must be done via My Media after uploading.
Note: Refer to the Editing guide for more information.
- Enter a meaningful title, and/or description and tags for your recording
- Click on the Save & Upload button to upload it to your My Media.
Note: Click Save to have the recording in your library in the event you want to make another recording and decide which is preferable. Click Delete to delete the recording.

Note: Recording with a webcam is an optional selection and should only be used if required for the assessment.
- Plug in the microphone you will be using (if you are not using a microphone built into your computer) before you open Kaltura Capture.
- Open the PowerPoint Presentation and in Kaltura Capture's main interface, ensure the appropriate screen with the Slide Show is selected from the drop-down menu.
- In the other output, select the appropriate webcam by clicking on the down-arrow and then the required webcam from the drop-down menu. The preview will appear to assist in selecting the webcam required for recording.
- To record, click on the Red record button and the 3-second countdown will commence before recording.

Access Recording
After recording, and if recording with two outputs, you can change the way the outputs are displayed in your My Media page.
Note: If you download the video then upload to a Learn.UQ (Blackboard) assignment, it will only show one output.
Note: If recording with two outputs is a requirement and both need to be viewed for assessment, you can publish it to your course site's Course Gallery.
- Login to Learn.UQ (Blackboard).
- Click on the My Media link.
- Select the recording in your My Media.
Change Toggle View
- In the video player, click on the Toggle View icon to change the display.
- The view is changed and the display can be changed by clicking the same Toggle View icon.
Change Output Positions
- In the video player, click on the Picture In Picture icon to display the different output position options.
Note: The Picture In Picture icon is the default icon that appears first and clicking on that, Side By Side icon or Single View icon shows the different output position options.
Side By Side View
- To view the two outputs next to each other, click on the Side By Side icon.

Single View
- To view only one of the two outputs, click on the Single View icon.
Note: Only one output will be displayed and to change between the two, click on the Toggle View icon.
