Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander culture

Collection overview

Our collection contains various papers, letters, records and ephemera about indigenous culture in Australia. Some key collections include the papers of Oodgeroo Noonuccal, Daisy Marchisotti, and Elwyn Flint.

Please note that material in some collections may contain culturally sensitive words or descriptions. Also please be aware that, in some Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities, seeing images of deceased persons in photographs, film and books or hearing them in recordings etc. may cause sadness or distress and in some cases, offend against strongly held cultural prohibitions.
