Special collections library, special rules

Fryer is a special collections library. It holds rare books and unique items that include original and unpublished materials. You will be studying alongside researchers using these collections.

Please observe the following special rules while in Fryer.

Respect the collection

  • Leave your bag and any food or drink (including water) in the rack outside the entrance. Bring your valuables inside with you.
  • Use pencils, not pens. Ink stains can damage rare materials.

  • Use the signed study tables. Some of the tables are reserved for Fryer research purposes
