UQ Gatton Library refurbishment open

The UQ Gatton (J.K. Murray) Library refurbishment is now open. The library refurbishment and extension provides improved spaces and services for UQ students and staff.

Some of the library's great features  

  • Light-filled space with great views of the outside area
  • Lots of comfortable furniture and breakout spaces for students 
  • More than 20 computers on Level 2
  • More than 90 individual study carrels, each with acoustic lining to facilitate quiet study, power, and two USB connectors for mobile devices
  • Two low carrels, to suit wheelchairs
  • Two height-adjustable desks
  • Eight additional group rooms with computers and walls you can write on
  • Six powered group pods
    • Three pods to accommodate 10 people 
    • Three pods with screens (6-8 people) 
  • A student kitchen on Level 1, with two microwaves and a fridge
  • More 24/7 space, that includes both Levels 1 and 2. A UQ ID Card is required to access the 24/7 space between 10pm and 6am.
  • Photocopiers/printers on Level 2
  • Postgraduate lockers and a Graduate School Study Centre on Level 1
