Guide to Publishing and Sharing Sensitive Data

There has been a growing movement towards sharing your research data and making it accessible to other researchers. But what if you have collected sensitive or confidential data?

The Australian National Data Service (ANDS) has released a Guide to Publishing and Sharing Sensitive Data to help researchers decide whether they can publish this type of data. The guide provides generic information on the issues around collecting, managing and sharing sensitive research data. It covers confidentialising data, establishing conditional access, and includes a useful decision tree that takes you through the process of deciding whether to, or how to, share your data. It also provides useful case studies demonstrating how sensitive Australian research data has been successfully shared. Check the Library's Research Data Management Guide for more information on data sharing.
